Miista Technique – From the Gutter to Greatness

Miista Technique is more than just a rap name—it’s a life story. Born and raised in East Vancouver with deep roots in Ahousaht, B.C., Miista started making music back in 2009 under the name “Kiing B.” Back then, it wasn’t about recognition —it was about surviving, expressing pain, and repping for the A-Town Soldiers fam alongside Young B and Day One "Attraction" (formerly known as Kraze).

Back in the day, Kiing B was remixing classic West Coast bangers—Mac Dre’s “Get Stupid,” Eazy-E’s “Real G’z,” and Dre’s “Ring Ding Dong”—turning raw instrumentals into his own stories. With nothing but desktop mics, phone recorders, and hunger in his chest, he laid down over 21 songs and remixes—many still floating around YouTube today.

In 2011, he linked with his bro Nick "G-Money" and joined Ghetto Cash Records, where him, Millz, and YNS began dropping music under that imprint with singles like “IN MY TOWN” & “make it understood ”. By 2012, the artist name changed—Kiing B evolved into Miista Technique. A new name, but same soldier mindset.

Then came the formation of Rain Gang Entertainment in 2013–2014, with YNS as president and Miista as vice president. Together, they tore up stages across the Lower Mainland—from bar shows to yacht parties, nightclubs. They hit big studios in Vancouver, grinding to build a name in the underground rap scene.

In 2016, Miista Technique parted ways with Rain Gang and returned home to A-Town Soldiers, releasing music under his own movement. Then in 2019, tragedy struck—Miista and his lifelong friend YoungNself-made (Tory) were in a devastating car accident. Miista survived with life-long injuries, but sadly, Tory passed away. Rest in peace, YNS.

That moment changed everything. Miista found a deeper purpose and a whole new perspective on life. From that day forward, he dedicated his music grind to Tory’s memory—his brother, his best friend, the President of Rain Gang Entertainment. Together, they had started a dream over a decade ago, and now Miista Technique is determined to finish what they began and take it to the global stage.

What started as a hood rep became a movement.
